The Church of God: His Home, my Home, Naomi Lewis

I was raised in a Christian home among the local churches, and it has absolutely been the Lord's mercy that has kept me here all these years. It is with the local churches that the believers in the Body of Christ are my family in a practical way my family. First Timothy 3:15 tells us that the church of the living God is the house of God, which can also be translated the “household” of God. I too can say that the church is my home.

Throughout my whole life I had the opportunity to travel a lot, both to many places in the United States and also to many different countries. Because of the oneness of the local churches, I am able to be practically in the Body of Christ wherever I go. Whether in South America, in Russia or in Canada, I have always had a place to “come home to.” Even if it is my first time to meet believers in a certain locality, I can always feel the love from them, and I know that they are my genuine brothers and sisters in Christ. It is here that I have experienced the reality of continuing steadfastly and pursuing the Lord with all those who call on the Lord out of pure heart (Acts 2:46-47; 2 Tim 2:22).
